Drain the engine coolant, remove the air filter housing, disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor, unscrew and remove the ECT sensor, remove and discard the old ECT sensor O-ring, install a new O-ring when installing the ECT sensor, tighten the ECT sensor to the torque listed in the specifications, refill the cooling system, raise the vehicle and support securely on jackstands, remove the lower splash shield, disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor, unscrew the ECT sensor from the radiator, install a new O-ring on the sensor, tighten the ECT sensor securely, and refill the cooling system.
