- A:For replacement, remove the distributor if not already done. Remove the rotor from the distributor shaft. Remove the reluctor from the distributor shaft, ensuring not to lose the locking pin. Set the distributor in a vise with a shop rag to protect the shaft. Remove the screws that mount the pick-up coil to the breaker plate.
