- Q:How do you install the accelerator cable from the 2009 Honda Accord? Posted by Customer
- A:Installation is the reverse of removal. When done, adjust the cable by putting the shift lever in Park or Neutral, starting the engine, holding it at 3000 rpm until the radiator fan comes on, then allowing it to idle. Back off the locknut, then place the accelerator cable in the cable bracket with both the adjusting nut and the locknut on the side of the cable bracket facing away from the throttle body. Then turn the adjusting nut until there is no free play between the adjusting nut and the cable bracket. Lift up the adjusting nut, place it on the other side of the cable bracket, then lighten the locknut. Finally, verify that the throttle valve opens fully when you depress the accelerator pedal and that it returns to its idle position when you release the pedal.Posted by HondaPartsNow Specialist
