- A:To remove the rear heater core, follow these steps:1. Remove the rear trim panels.2. Disconnect the air conditioning/heater housing electrical connectors.3. Disconnect the air duct from the housing.4. Disconnect the heater hoses and the air conditioning lines from the A/C and heater housing.5. For 2004 and earlier models, remove the air conditioning/heater housing mounting bolts and nuts.6. For 2005 and later models, unbolt the wiring junction box, disconnect the remaining wiring, and remove the unit from the vehicle.7.
