  Q: What is the purpose and function of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and Air Bag on Honda Ridgeline?

  A: The rest of the cars contain a Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), which is commonly known as airbags. They are intended to safeguard the driver and front seat passenger in case of a head-on or frontal accident. Crash sensors, which set off the airbags, can be found in the SRS control unit attached to the steering wheel and inside the dash at passenger's end. Behind the front seats, there are also side-impact airbags. Some models have pre-tensioners on their seat belts that reduce slack during collision.
