To remove the radiator, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. For 2007 Acura MDX models, remove the battery tray. Set the parking brake, block the rear wheels, raise the front of the vehicle, support it on jackstands, and remove the lower engine splash shield. On 2007 Acura MDX models, remove the air filter housing. Drain the cooling system, and if the coolant is in good condition, consider reusing it. Take off the plastic cover over the radiator. Remove the bumper cover, or for 2007 Acura MDX models, remove the front grill. Detach the upper and lower radiator hoses from the radiator. If hoses are stuck, use slip-joint pliers to break the seal and pull them off, ensuring not to damage the radiator fitting. If hoses are old, consider replacing them. Disconnect the small hose to the coolant reservoir. Remove the engine cooling fans. For 2007 Acura MDX models, separate the cooling fans and lean them towards the engine compartment. They can be removed after the radiator is out. Disconnect the transaxle fluid cooler hoses and related line brackets from the bottom of the radiator and plug them. For 2007 Acura MDX models, disconnect the ECT sensor from the radiator bottom. Remove the radiator and air conditioning condenser mounting brackets, checking the rubber mounts in the brackets for any damage. Lift out the radiator carefully to avoid damage. Inspect the radiator for leaks or damage and, if needed, consult a radiator shop or dealer service for repairs. Clean the radiator by spraying it with a garden hose from the backside. Check the rubber mounts on the radiator bottom for wear or damage and replace if needed. For installation, reverse the removal procedure. Make sure the radiator's rubber mounts are seated properly in the support. Tighten the bolts for the radiator and air conditioning condenser brackets. Fill the cooling system with the right mixture of antifreeze and water. Start the engine, check for leaks, and let it reach normal operating temperature. Recheck the coolant level and top up if needed. Lastly, check the transaxle fluid and replenish if required.
