  Q: How to remove and install a Throttle Body?

  A: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Pinch off the two coolant hoses to the throttle body. If you don't have suitable tools, drain the engine coolant until its level is below the throttle body. Remove the air intake duct. Detach the cable bracket from the throttle body, leaving the accelerator and cruise control cables attached to the bracket to maintain their adjustment. Disconnect both the accelerator and cruise control cables from the throttle lever cam. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. On 2004 and earlier models, disconnect the electrical connector from the Throttle Position (TP) sensor. Loosen the hose clamps, slide them back, and disconnect both coolant hoses from the throttle body. Be prepared for any remaining coolant and plug the hoses to avoid further loss. On 2004 and earlier models, disconnect the EVAP hose. Disconnect the wiring from the IAC valve on 2004 and earlier models. On 2005 and later models, disconnect the main wiring harness. Remove the two bolts and two nuts that secure the throttle body to the intake manifold and then remove the throttle body, spacer, and two gaskets. Clean off all old gasket material from the throttle body, spacer, and intake manifold. For installation, do the reverse of the removal steps, use new gaskets, and secure the throttle body. Refill the cooling system if drained, or check and adjust the coolant level as necessary. On 2004 and earlier models, inspect the Accelerator Cable adjustment and adjust if required. Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Start the engine and ensure there are no air or coolant leaks.
