Honda Warranty


Limitations
Honda parts which are distributed by American Honda and sold from, but not installed, by an authorized Honda dealership are covered for 12 months from the date of purchase. Parts that were sold and installed by an authorized Honda dealership are warranted 12 months or 12,000 miles from date of installation. Replacement mufflers have a limited lifetime warranty.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover:
  • Any Parts sold or distributed outside the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Parts where applicable proof of purchase date, installation date, and vehicle mileage at time of installation are not available and are not presented.
  • Any part wear due to normal use and exposure.
  • Parts installed in vehicles for racing or competition.
  • Any parts that are normal maintenance items, which are replaced, cleaned or adjusted as normal owner maintenance, unless they are defective in material or factory workmanship.
  • Parts installed in a car in which the odometer has been altered, or on which the actual mileage cannot be determined.
  • Obtaining Warranty Service
    The defective part, or the car it is installed in, must be returned by the purchaser to an authorized Honda automobile dealer. The purchaser must provide proof of purchase (contact us for a dealership receipt) as well as the installation, date, and mileage at time of installation (If the installation was done by an authorized Honda automobile dealer). If the car is non-operational because of a defect covered by this warranty, call the nearest authorized Honda automobile dealer for towing assistance. You will not have to pay for towing if the defect is covered by this warranty.

    If you cannot obtain warranty service from your local Honda dealer, or you are dissatisfied with the service or results of the warranty, you can contact the dealer's manager. If you need further assistance, request for the Honda Customer Relations office that serves your area from the dealer that you are attempting to warranty at.

    If you'd rather not go to your local authorized dealership, you may obtain warranty service through us:
  • Customer needs to request and fill out a warranty form and a ship the form back with the defective part.
  • Customer must document the symptoms of the defect when returning any part under warranty.
  • VIN and mileage are required for all warranty returns.
  • All warranty claim parts and accessories will be inspected for eligibility upon receipt. No Cash Reimbursements will be made under any circumstances.
  • Replacements will be sent once the inspection is completed and the warranty is approved.
  • Warranty Coverage
    Honda Motor Co., Inc. will repair or replace, at its option, any genuine Honda part that is defective in materials or workmanship under normal use.

    Parts that were sold and installed by an authorized Honda dealer will be repaired or replaced without charge for parts or labor. Parts, except for batteries, sold from, but not installed by an authorized Honda dealer will be repaired or replaced without charge for the parts. However, labor charges will be the customer's responsibility.

    No Cash Refunds will be issued for any reason. Any service or installation charge will be at your own expense, except during the 12 months free-of-charge replacement period.

    Core Charge Return

    All remanufactured parts have a "core charge" that is attached to each item. The charges range from $20.00 to several hundred dollars, depending on the item that is being purchased.

    This core charge may sometimes be charged as a separate entry when placing the order for a remanufactured part or included in the cost of the item, if mentioned on the item's description page.

    This individual charge is refundable to the customer when ALL of the following conditions are met:

    1.
    Part(s) is/are returned for core credit in the original Honda box that it was shipped out in without damage to the box. There are no markings to the box from any outside sources.

    2.
    The part being returned is a factory part. Any part that is not an original OEM part which was fitted to the same vehicle that the original part was ordered for, will not qualify for core refund.

    3.
    Part must be fully assembled as it came off the vehicle.

    4.
    Part must be completely drained of all internal fluid (transmission, power steering, brake fluid etc.) prior to shipping. Hondapartsnow.com will not assume any responsibility for the shipment of any Hazardous Material by customers.

    5.
    Core must be complete and damage free. Incomplete parts which are missing any components will not be eligible for core refund.

    6.
    Customer is responsible for shipping all cores back.

    7.
    Any core damaged in transit to us is the responsibility of the sender. Insurance from the carrier is strongly recommended.

    8.
    All cores must be received no later than 25 days from the date the remanufactured part is shipped.

    9.
    All rejected Cores may be returned to sender. Customer is responsible for return freight charges.
