Here are the steps on how to remove the throttle body, The first step you take is taken get a hold of the negative terminal of the battery and disconnect it. Subsequently, the air intake duct should be detached to client the clamp that secures the PCV fresh air intake hose, disconnect the hose, and any other hoses connected to the duct-on the 2.2L engine, this is the power brake booster hose. Wiring harnesses of throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve must be disconnected. Coolant hoses can be removed by unscrewing hose clamps and these can be capped or clipped off to avoid leakage. Accelerator cable is then removed from throttle cam by unlocking the locknut and adjusting nut and pulling the cable out. All vacuum hoses should be definitely labeled and disconnected from the throttle body. Four screws or nuts which fasten the throttle body to the air intake plenum or the intake manifold are loosened to remove the throttle body, and the gasket interconnecting the throttle body and the plenum or manifold is defective. The gasket mating surfaces should be cleaned and in this process, they must not be scratched or any debris drop to the intake. In installation, the process is done in the reverse order of the removal process with the requirement that new gasket be put in and the mounting nuts of the throttle body be tightened to a recommended torque.
