Honda 30100-PE1-674 Distributor Assembly (D4R82-30) (Hitachi)

The distributor in CRX models gets its drive power directly from the camshaft through its distribution shaft grooves that secure the distribution shaft in the proper position. First step to replace or remove the distributor requires distributors will receive labels through masking tape before disconnecting the spark plug wires attached to the cap. To proceed with replacement start by disconnecting vacuum hoses as well as primary wire and high tension wire. Remove the four-prong connector of the crank angle sensor if present. Free the distributor while drawing it from the head by removing its hold-down bolts and keep in mind CRX models with fuel injection should have three bolts. Place the No. 1 piston at TDC compression position before applying a new O-ring to the distributor housing. Keep the distributor drive gear engaged during removal before aligning the distributor for turning until the shaft locks in position with the cylinder head. Install the distributor hold-down bolts loosely before temporary tightening and placing back the cap. After finishing the procedures users must reconnect all wires and hoses before starting their engine for ignition timing adjustment.

Clean or replace the distributor cap as needed.
