Honda 8-94430-421-3 Handle, Passenger Side Door (Inner) (Gray)

To replace the door latch, first raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield. Through the large access hole, disengage the outside door handle-to-latch rod, outside door lock-to-latch rod, inside lock-to-latch rod, inside handle-to-latch rod, and lock solenoid-to-latch rod if equipped, detaching the plastic clips on the actuating rods leading to the latch for typical 1997 and earlier models. All door locking rods are attached by plastic clips that can be removed by unsnapping the portion engaging the connecting rod and pulling the rod out of its locating hole. Next, remove the screws securing the latch to the door and pull the latch assembly through the access hole. For the outside handle and lock cylinder assembly, raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield, then disengage the plastic clips securing the outside handle-to-latch rod and outside door lock-to-latch rod, followed by removing the outside handle retaining bolts. After that, remove the handle and lock cylinder assembly from the vehicle. For the inside handle, remove the door trim panel and peel away the watershield, then unclip the door actuating rod guide and remove the door handle retaining screws. Rotate the handle outward and detach the actuating rods from the backside, noting that on 1998 and later models, the inside handle/trim bezel assembly must be removed before the trim panel. Finally, pull the handle free from the door, disconnect the actuating rod from the backside of the handle control, and remove the handle from the door. Installation is the reverse of removal for all components.
