Q:
How to replace Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail in a Honda Accord? Posted by Customer
A:
Relieve the system fuel pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the engine cover, air intake duct, electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and engine mount control solenoid valve, and remove the injector harness ground cable bolt. Disconnect the quick-connect fitting that connects the fuel supply line to the fuel rail. Remove the fuel rail mounting nuts, fuel rail and the fuel injectors as a single assembly. To remove each injector from the fuel rail, remove the retainer clip, then pull the injector out of its bore in the fuel rail. Remove and discard the upper and lower O-rings from each injector, discard them and install new O-rings. Coat each new O-ring with clean engine oil to make it easier to slide the O-ring into place on the injector. Repeat this procedure for each injector. Coat the new upper injector O-rings with clean engine oil, then insert each injector into its corresponding bore in the fuel rail. Install the fuel rail spacers on the fuel rail mounting studs. Coat each new lower injector O-ring with clean engine oil and press the injector into its mounting bore in the intake manifold. Once the fuel rail assembly is in place, with all four injectors fully seated in their respective bores, install the fuel rail mounting nuts and tighten them to the torque listed. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. When you're done reassembling everything, reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal, turn the ignition switch to ON to activate the fuel pump and build up fuel pressure in the fuel lines and the fuel rail, but DON'T operate the starter yet. Repeat this step two or three times, then check the fuel lines, fuel rails and injectors for fuel leaks. Once you're confident that there are no leaks, start the engine and verify that the injectors are working and there are no fuel leaks.
