- Q:How can the IAT sensor be checked from the 1997 Honda Passport? Posted by Customer
- A:Disconnect the two prong electrical connector and turn the ignition key ON but do not start the engine. Measure the reference voltage. The voltmeter should indicate 5-volts. If the voltage signal is not correct, have the PCM diagnosed by a dealer service department. Measure the resistance across the sensor terminals. The resistance should be high when the air temperature is low. Start the engine, wait awhile and let the engine reach operating temperature. Turn the ignition off, disconnect the IAT sensor and measure the resistance across the terminals. The resistance should be low when the air temperature is high. If the sensor does not change resistance as indicated, replace it.Posted by HondaPartsNow Specialist
