For 2012 and earlier models, begin by pulling the cable off the negative terminal of the battery, then LOWER the column. The retaining screws must be removed, and the object must be divided into two halves, after which the covers must be detached. Installation is also done in the opposite of the removal process as described below. Insert the steering column to the most forward and downward position for 2013 and newer models to detach the clips found at the back part of the upper column cover, and along the instrument panel. The upper-right corner of the upper cover has a single clip that is engaged into the steering wheel housing; turn the steering wheel 90 degrees clockwise and then pry the clip free using a plastic trim tool. Next place the steering wheel 180 degrees counterclockwise to look for the clip of the lower half of the steering wheel at the upper left corner and release it. To gain access to the upper column cover, this has to be rotated up from front until it is free, the next step would be to remove the retaining screw from the left front corner of the steering wheel in order to rotate the wheel and get access to the retaining screw on the right front corner. Take off the central retaining screw of the lower column cover and then pull down the column cover down and out. Installation is quite an opposite as to the removal process or rather steps.
