Before proceeding with the process of removal of the valve cover, one has to detach the cable of the negative terminal of the battery. Then, detachment of the ignition coil assemblies accompanied with the use of the harness holders to lift the ignition coil wiring harnesses away from the valve covers. Then remove the upper intake manifold as well. On the front valve cover, it is necessary to pull PCV hose from the left side, and in the rear valve cover, there is a bolt securing the bracket for the power steering hose which must be loosened and hose moved. Remove the studs and nuts of the front and rear cover; if the cover does not remove easily, hit the end of the cover lightly with a piece of wood and a hammer, do not pry at the cover head joint. Remove gasket and seal washers, clean the mating surfaces of cylinder head and valve cover if the rear cover is removed and always inspect PCV valve. In term of installation, if it is new, place a new gasket in the groove and counter new seal washers on the bolts. After that fix the cover and use three legal and equal steps for tightening bolts and follow the torque sequence. Install the remaining components and reconnect the battery and then start the engine and look out for any form of oil leakage.
