Honda Crosstour Steering Column Cover

The main function of the Honda Crosstour Steering Column Cover is to protect the mechanisms beneath the steering wheel and make the cabin look neat, polished, and level. As a visible interior panel, this Steering Column Cover protects the wiring and ignition components from dust and bumps, and its sleek molded surface maintains the overall look drivers expect from a Honda. After years of daily use, the cover can become scratched or cracked, and that damage is prominently visible in a driver's line of sight, reducing comfort behind the wheel of any Crosstour. Because such wear is inevitable, prompt replacement of a defective Steering Column Cover helps return both appearance and ease of driving. Across production years, Honda maintained a two-piece plastic construction of the component, so all Crosstours have an upper and lower section that snap together around the column, making removal and installation simple while protecting surrounding trim. This consistency ensures that every Honda Crosstour owner will get the same dependable protection, proving again how a humble Steering Column Cover plays its part in driving satisfaction for a day-to-day drive and enhancing the overall experience of the Steering Column Cover.

Honda Crosstour Steering Column Cover Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the Steering Column Cover on Honda Crosstour?
    A:
For 2012 and earlier models, begin by pulling the cable off the negative terminal of the battery, then LOWER the column. The retaining screws must be removed, and the object must be divided into two halves, after which the covers must be detached. Installation is also done in the opposite of the removal process as described below. Insert the steering column to the most forward and downward position for 2013 and newer models to detach the clips found at the back part of the upper column cover, and along the instrument panel. The upper-right corner of the upper cover has a single clip that is engaged into the steering wheel housing; turn the steering wheel 90 degrees clockwise and then pry the clip free using a plastic trim tool. Next place the steering wheel 180 degrees counterclockwise to look for the clip of the lower half of the steering wheel at the upper left corner and release it. To gain access to the upper column cover, this has to be rotated up from front until it is free, the next step would be to remove the retaining screw from the left front corner of the steering wheel in order to rotate the wheel and get access to the retaining screw on the right front corner. Take off the central retaining screw of the lower column cover and then pull down the column cover down and out. Installation is quite an opposite as to the removal process or rather steps.
