Mark the hinge locations on the trunk lid for proper reinstallation. Support the trunk lid by hand and remove the bolts attaching it to the hinge, then take off the trunk lid. Install the trunk lid in position, aligning the marks made during removal, and install the retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm) and adjust the trunk lid as needed. To align, loosen the hinge attaching bolts until they are just loose enough to move the trunk lid. Adjust the trunk lid forward and aft to achieve a flush fit with the rear fender.
