Honda Insight Engine Block

Honda Insight Engine Block provides reliable power and outstanding fuel economy as the tough backbone of the hybrid drivetrain. This Engine Block is made from lightweight aluminum with cast iron liners which produces less mass while protecting cylinder walls from wear. Built for the first, second, and third generations, the Engine Block is a perfect bolt-on for all the different Insight variants, be they the original manual two seater, the large five door hybrid, or the later sedan with tool roots. Carefully machined oil galleries and a wraparound water jacket allow coolant and lubricant to flow effortlessly so that the Honda Insight Engine Block maintains temperatures even during steep ascents or stop and go commutes. That thermal balance helps protect gaskets and bearings, allowing for a longer service life and helping the electric motor provide the celebrated 61 mpg highway figure. High torsional rigidity from the one piece casting also dampens vibration to provide the cabin with a calm feel and assists the safety systems in keeping the sensors in place.
