How to replace the Receiver-Drier Desiccant in an Air Conditioning System?

Have the refrigerant discharged and recovered by an air conditioning technician. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the condenser, and then the cap. Remove the filter. Use pliers to remove the A/C accumulator desiccant from the condenser. Installation is the reverse of the removal. Be sure to install new O-rings onto the A/C accumulator cap. Apply a thin layer of refrigerant oil to the O-rings before installing them. Reconnect the battery. Evacuate, charge, and leak test the system.
