When troubleshooting starting circuit issues, don't immediately blame the starter. Check the
Battery Cable clamps, battery cables, and battery condition. Inspect the starter solenoid wiring, starter mounting bolts, fuses 41 and 42, and the ignition switch circuit. Confirm the gear position switch and starter cut relay are functioning. If the starter doesn't engage, check for battery voltage at the solenoid's "S" terminal. If no voltage, check fuses No.41 and No. 42, and the starter cut relay. If voltage is present but the starter doesn't engage, bench test the starter. If the starter turns over slowly, monitor the voltage and current draw from the battery. If the starter receives voltage but doesn't activate, bench test the starter/solenoid assembly.
