- Q: How do you remove the front fender assembly on Honda Passport?A:The front fender assembly from the 1997 and prior model is relatively typical, with the number and distribution of fasteners on later 1998 and subsequent year models slightly different but comparable. Start by removing the front wheel lag bolts and then lifting the car and placing to jack stands and then removing the wheel. Then pull off the radiator Grille, and then the front Bumper as well should be pulled off. In case the removal is only going to be for the passengers side fender then remove the radio antenna. Next, pull the lower dash trim panels away, then take out the fender in mounting bolts and nuts. This involves, operating from inside the wheel opening to undo the screws, which holds the inner fenderwell splash, shield, then, the fender to the rocker panel bolt and the retainer bolt at the frontal part of the fender below the side marker light. To get to the upper fender to door pillar bolt the door must be opened and to gain access to the lower fender to door pillar bolt the lower dashboard trim panel and the lower kick panel must be removed. Remove the rest of the bolts visible in the hood opening and safely and gently un-bolt the fender with an assistance in order not to cause damage to other parts of the body. It is similar to its removal, namely it is carried out in the reverse order.
