A good check will only involve checking the seat belts, buckles, latch plates, as well as the guide loops for any form of damage or trace of usage. Check that the seat belt reminder light should illuminate when the key is turned 'ON'. The seat belts are constructed for locking up during a jerk or stumble, or in the case of accidents but they are comfortable for normal driving. As a retractor, it should be worn next to the chest during driving and to rewind the belt the buckle must be released. If any of the checks indicate problems with the seat-belt system, replace parts as appropriate but before you replace any of the components of the seat-belt system, it is advisable to liaise with your local dealership service centre as the seat-belt system may be under warranty.
