To uninstall the steering wheel, it is necessary to first disconnect the cable of the negative terminal in the battery. In models that do not have an airbag, pry off the horn button or center pad and remove the horn switch connector. On models with airbags, make sure the airbag system is disable then remove the airbag module retaining bolts, then remove the module and disconnect the electrical connector. Subsequently, if it is equipped with a cruise control system, the electrical connector should be disconnected. Loosen the steering wheel nut and paint the steering wheel hub and the column shaft so as to enable easy identification when reassembling the car. In order to remove the wheel, make use of the puller and do not hammer on the wheel or the shaft. For installation, align match marks on the steering wheel and column shaft and then put and fasten the retaining nut to the required torque setting. If so equipped, insert the electrical connectors for the horn and the cruise control system. In models that do not come equipped with airbags, affix the center pad.
