Coupe and sedans models use the rear window-mounted antenna grid which is similar to the defogger grid on the rear window, and to replace the antenna, the whole rear window has to be replaced. But if a part of the antenna grid is less than one inch in length it can be repaired by following the same steps as in the case of the repair of rear window defogger grid. As for the XM antenna, the headliner should be pulled out and the electricity connector of the XM antenna should be disconnected and the nut at the base of the XM antenna on the roof of the car should be loosened. Remove the antenna from the roof with the gasket on, where on assembly the nut to the antenna must be tightened to 3.2 ft-lbs. Finally to remove the XM antenna pull it off the roof when the electrical connector is disconnected, and the rest of removal is the reverse of the installation. Also, the XM receiver is mounted on the trunk at the extreme right behind the paneling of the car.

Both Crosstour versions use a signal-passing antenna located right behind their rear window - just like how their defogger system works. Fixing the antenna grid is simple: if the damage part is one inch or shorter, you can repair it by following the same steps used for fixing the defogger grid in the rear window. To get to the rear window antenna coil, first you need to take off the weatherstripping along the top edge of the liftgate glass opening. Slowly release the rear headliner while avoiding its broken clips, letting you see the antenna holding screw from below. Keep the headliner safely out of harm. Free the electrical connectors, unscrew the nut, and simply lift the antenna from the roof down. Installation goes the other direction.
