    Q:
How to Remove and Replace Car Batteries on a Honda CR-V? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal first, then disconnect the cable from the positive battery terminal. Remove the battery hold-down clamp. Lift out the battery, but be careful as it's heavy. Battery straps and handlers are available at most auto parts stores for reasonable prices and they make it easier to remove and carry the battery. If you are replacing the battery, make sure you get one that's identical, with the same dimensions, amperage rating, cold cranking rating, etc. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to connect the positive cable first and the negative cable last.

    Q:
How to Check the State of Charge on Car Batteries for a Honda Crosstour? Posted by Customer
    A:
Check the battery state of charge by visually inspecting the indicator eye on the top of the battery and performing an open voltage circuit test with a digital voltmeter. Disconnect the negative battery cable first, then the positive cable and perform a battery load test with a load tester. If the battery is weak or defective, the tool will indicate this condition immediately. If replacing the battery, make sure to get one that is identical with the same dimensions, amperage rating, cold cranking rating, etc. Installation is the reverse of removal, connecting the positive cable first and the negative cable last.

    Q:
How to Properly Remove and Replace Car Batteries on a Honda Del Sol? Posted by Customer
    A:
Pull out both cables from the battery terminal connections, thereafter, unscrew the two nuts holding down the battery clamp. To remove the heavy battery, take time to do so and if available make use of the battery strap to help in the process. Before installation, use it as a good opportunity to verify the presence of corrosion of the carrier, if indeed it is present. If the corrosion has reached the battery support, then one has to uninstall the support by removing the bolts; clean it because accumulation of material contributes to more corrosion. One should ensure that the new battery is of similar dimensions as the old one, the amps on the new battery should be as that of the old one a should have a similar cold cranking amps as the old one. As we said, installation is done in a sequence that is the exact opposite of the removal sequence.

    Q:
What is the Routine Preventive Maintenance Program for Car Batteries in the Honda Del Sol? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, you should maintain your vehicle's battery regularly. Always turn off the engine and disconnect the negative terminal before servicing. Check the battery for corrosion and clean with a battery brush and baking soda solution. Reinstall the battery, using treated felt washers and petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion. Charge the battery, monitoring it to avoid overheating. You can use a hydrometer or voltmeter if possible for checking the charge. Twelve point six volts or higher should be read on a fully charged battery.
