Honda 53200-SJC-A03 Steering Column Assembly

Pull the car level, stop its wheels from turning. Unplug the ground wire from the battery's negative terminal. Put the steering wheel tilt option to Neutral by moving it down about 8 mm from the highest position. Don't let the steering wheel move when removing it, but make sure you can't turn the steering shaft, or you'll hurt your airbag clock spring. First take off the steering column covers, clock spring, and steering column buttons. Push back the shift cable from the shift lever and its holder, and also lift the steering shaft cover if it has one. From this spot, note where the U-joint connects to the intermediate shaft. Then take off the pinch bolt. Unplug the 2 main wire connectors that hold the wiring harness at the base of the steering column, take out the wire harness, and remove other electrical links. Take off the bolts holding the steering column, lower it, turn it back, and make sure nothing connects any longer before pulling it out. When putting the steering column back, push it into place and join the U-joint to the bottom of the intermediate shaft. Make sure everything lines up like you drew during installation. Put the steering column mounting bolt in place, then tighten it to the specified torque level. Snug the intermediate shaft's bolt and nut in place, according to the proper torque. After removing the cable, reattach the battery the same way you removed it.
