    Q:
What are the procedures for the removal and installation of the Cooling Fan Assembly on a Honda Civic? Posted by Customer
    A:
A fully equipped air-conditioned Civic has two separate fan systems: one for the condenser and one for the radiator. Avoid the negative battery cable by taking it off first. For Civic engines powered by 2.4L engines, gently slide the PCM out of its mounting bracket and keep it away from the repair area. Do not take off connector cables from the PCM. The first task is to take off the intake air duct and filter housing on vehicles with 2.4L engines. Take off the plastic hood from around the radiator by pulling out all the pins holding it in place. Gently pull the wiring clamp aside, detach the radiator fan's electrical connector, slide off the wiring holder, then remove the fan shroud by undoing the condenser fan. First, take out the battery and tray, ensuring to put the wiring harness over to the side. Clamp the reservoir tank and remove the upper bracket bolts under the radiator before you can move the crossmember. nearest to the cooling fan top, remove the fan from the radiator using the bolts above it. Start by taking out the fan that holds the condenser, then gently move the radiator fan up a bit before sliding it to the right and drawing it free from your engine's space. Before you take the fan off, first unscrew the motor shaft nut, then pull out the fan blade from the motor shaft. Unscrew the fan motor attachment screws to take it off the shroud. Installation is the reverse of removal. Put more coolant in, and connect the battery back like it was before.

    Q:
What are the procedures for removing and installing the Cooling Fan Assembly on a Honda CR-V? Posted by Customer
    A:
Every CRV air conditioning model uses two full fan circuits, one cooling the condenser and one blowing air into the radiator. Begin by taking your cable out of the battery's negative connection. Taking off the air filter housing and intake air duct is necessary on all 2.4L vehicles. After you remove the black caps, carefully work your way around the grille to take out the clips that keep it attached to the bumper cover. Pull out the pushpins from the grille opening. After that, take off the duct assembly along with its mounting pins which connect it to the front bumper cover. Crack the clamp that holds the wiring harness and set it aside. Pull off the connector wire from the radiator fan. Let go of the harness retainer after that. Do the same with the cooling fan attached to the condenser using the same steps. Detach the electrical cable to the horn, take off both the horn and its bracket, and pull out the hood locking mechanism. Unbolt and remove the two radiator mount upper bracket bolts. Detach their brackets. Disconnect the pair of wiring connectors found at the top of the cooling fan shroud. Start by taking off the top engine cooling fan bolts from the radiator. Be careful as you lift the condenser fan first, then move the radiator fan up a little bit and to the right, allowing you to take it out from the engine bay. Unscrew the motor shaft nut first; after that, pull the fan blade away from the motor shaft. To take off the fan motor from its housing, first remove the mounting screws. Installation is the reverse of removal. Finally, add cold fluid back to the car's cooling system and hook up the battery.
