    Q:
How are the electrical circuits protected, and what steps should be taken to check and replace fuses on Honda Del Sol? Posted by Customer
    A:
The electrical circuits of the vehicle are protected by a combination of fuses and circuit breakers, with two fuse blocks located under the instrument panel and on the right side of the engine compartment; the interior fuse box is under the left side of the instrument panel, while the engine compartment fuse box is in the right rear corner. Each fuse is designed to protect specific circuits, which are identified on the fuse panel. Miniaturized fuses with blade terminal design allow for easy fingertip removal and replacement, and if an electrical component fails, checking the fuse is the first step. To check, turn the ignition key to the On position and use a test light to probe each exposed terminal; if the test light glows on both terminals, the fuse is good, but if power is available on one side only, the fuse is blown, which can be visually confirmed through the clear plastic body. Blown fuses should be replaced with the correct type, as fuses of different ratings are interchangeable but using the proper rating is essential for adequate protection. If a replacement fuse fails immediately, the underlying issue, often a short circuit due to a damaged wire, should be addressed before replacing it again. All models have a main fuse (either 80A or 100A) that protects all circuits from the battery, and if overloaded, it blows to prevent damage to the wiring harness; this fuse is visibly melted when overloaded and should be replaced with an equivalent unit after disconnecting the battery, taking care to avoid switching amperage ratings.

    Q:
How are the electrical circuits protected and how can you diagnose blown fuses on Honda Pilot? Posted by Customer
    A:
To protect the vehicle's electrical circuits, fuses, circuit breakers and relays are used. These fuse and relay boxes are located at the engine compartment and under the dashboard. The right side of the engine compartment has an engine compartment fuse/relay box while in front of and below the PCM is where you will find another auxiliary relay box. Firewall on left side of brake master cylinder reservoir is another location for an auxiliary fuse and relay box. There are fuse boxes at both ends of the instrument panel inside the vehicle. Many kinds of mini/maxi style fuses can be taken out or reinstalled without use of any special tools. Each connects certain wires to a certain circuit on a cover in which protected circuits have been identified by different symbols etched on it. To check a fuse, test light can be used to test for power at exposed terminal tips: if there isn't any power present on one side but not other then there is a blown fuse. Replace with proper type and amperage rating all blown fuses when necessary; should a replacement fuse blow instantly, this means that problem-typically caused by broken or deteriorated wire-did occur in wiring track leading towards that faulty component itself.

    Q:
How are fuses, maxi-fuses, circuit breakers,Turn Signal Flasher and fusible links identified and replaced in a Honda Prelude's electrical system? Posted by Customer
    A:
Fuses and maxi-fuses are located in the engine and passenger compartments. Circuit breakers are inside the fuse panel. Fusible links are identified by color coding. To replace a turn signal flasher/hazard warning relay, pull the flasher from the connector, inspect the socket, install a new flasher, and replace the fuse panel cover.

    Q:
How should a fusible link be replaced for the 2008 Honda Fit? Posted by Customer
    A:
Fusible links can be replaced with ones of the same amperage after disconnecting the negative battery cable.
