    How to replace the rear wheel hub and bearing assembly on a Honda Del Sol? Posted by Customer

    Rear hub and bearing are integrated such that the bearing is 'lifetime service' and thus does not need to be lubricated. Should the bearing be in a bad condition or is damaged in some way, then the hub and bearing will have to be changed. The process can be initiated by: Paint the different parts of the car and the final chapter of painting discusses the painting of the rear wheel. Next, unbolt the brake drum of caliper, and discard also the brake drum and brake disc. Then remove the dustcover either by using a hammer at the top of chisel or with a wrench. Loosen the hub retaining nut, take it out, and simultaneously, the thrust washer along with the hub is removed. The new hub assembly with the thrust washer has to be put in, the new nut to be tightened to the prescribed torque and the end of this nut has to be staked into the groove in the spindle. Finally screw on the dust cover gently around the edges so that it snaps into place; and to remove this cover reverse the procedure highlighted above.
