Remove the negative battery terminal connection from the battery then remove the PCV fresh air inlet hose from the air intake duct. Take the nut out of the air intake duct bracket, depress the intake duct hose claws where it connects to a air cleaner and to the throttle assembly, then take out the air intake duct and air cleaner housing. Subsequent to that, take out the air intake duct bracket and the ground wire connected to the bracket. Lose the four manifolds heat shield bolts next followed by the four nuts and bolts of the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold flange. Next, unscrew the exhaust manifold bolts and therefore separate the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head as well as take out the exhaust manifold. For installation, fit in the exhaust manifold and tighten the manifold retaining nuts to the recommended torque limit. Replace the front exhaust pipe back to the exhaust manifold then tighten the bolts and nuts to the recommended torque. Fasten the exhaust manifold heat shield screws in two steps to the required torque in the center, and in the radial direction. This involves fitting of the intake duct bracket, refitting of the ground cable and fixing the bracket retaining nut albeit loosely. Locate the intake duct assembly at a position between the air cleaner and the throttle body and fasten the hose clamps at the two ends then tighten the nut on the intake duct bracket. Last but not the least connect the PCV hose to the air intake duct and connect the negative battery cable again.

Yes, the air cleaner duct must be moved, and the EGA pipe should be disconnected by removing two bolts and separating the EGR tube from the left exhaust manifold, depending on which manifold is being removed.

Place a new exhaust manifold gasket in position on the cylinder head.
