    Q:
How to replace rear crankshaft seal on V6 engine on Honda Crosstour? Posted by Customer
    A:
Typically the transaxle must be dismounted from the vehicle and the flywheel or driveplate has to be detached from the engine. The Crankshaft Seal can be replaced without having to take off the oil pan or the seal retainer, but care has to be taken because the lip of the seal is very rigid and this may cause some mishandling or improper positioning of the part. Delegate the old seal with a screwdriver but one has to be careful and avoid scratching the crankshaft surface since it leads to leakage with the seal. Put multipurpose grease at the crankshaft seal journal as well as the lip of the new Crankshaft Seal before putting the new seal by pounding on the seal and make sure the side with the spring is in downwards. The thread can be started with a seal driver or with a large socket and has to be driven in straight and carefully until it is flush with the housing so as not to harm the seal. The remaining steps are more or less the reversal of the removal process outlined in this paper.

    Q:
How to replace rear Crankshaft Seal on Honda Odyssey? Posted by Customer
    A:
For this, the transaxle has to be detached from the vehicle together with the driveplate from the engine. The Crankshaft Seal, however, does not require the oil pan and seal retainer to be removed; care is required due to the toughness of the lip of the new seal which can be easily distorted leading to improper fits. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the old seal gently without harming the crankshaft surface since it will cause leakages when using the new seal. Use multi-purpose grease for the crankshaft seal journal, and the lip of the new seal, and drive the seal into place and its spring side in until the seal is flush with the housing. Insert with the help of a socket, section of pipe or the tool used for seal installation taking much care on the stiff lip on the seal journal without much strain. Last of all, there are some steps, which are the inverse of the elimination procedure, such as the finalization of record deletion, signal cancellation, and the reconstruction of obstructions.

    Q:
How to replace front Crankshaft Seal on Honda Odyssey? Posted by Customer
    A:
The timing belt and crankshaft sprocket must be therefore detached. Carefully insert a screwdriver or a seal removal tool and loosen the seal from the engine without causing any scratches on the housing bore or damaging the crankshaft because with the new seal, if either of them is done, there will be leakage. Wipe the oil seal bore and spread a thin layer of OE oil on the new seal because it eases installation, the multi-purpose grease should then be applied on the seal lip. The seal-driver or a socket slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the seal is to be used to drive the new seal as squarely and to the same depth as the original as possible; if no socket is available, a short length of large pipe may be used. After installation look at the seal opening and make sure garter spring is not hang out. Torque the crankshaft sprocket and then the timing belt back on, take the car for a test drive to look for oil leakage at the front seal.
