Honda 51606-SR3-J04 Left Front Shock Absorber Unit (Showa)

Try to unscrew the wheel lug nuts, jack up the car and put it on jack stands and then remove the wheel. Remove the brake hose which is fitted to the shock absorber assembly and separate the stabilizer bar from the lower control arm. It is necessary to put a floor jack under the lower control arm for supporting while unlinking of the shock absorber assembly, then remove the damper fork pinch bolt. Subsequently, withdraw the damper fork-to-lower control arm bolt and take out the fork, and, if necessary, pry it off the shock absorber. Remove the upper support connecting to the shock absorber and coil spring assembly, take out the two nuts and pull the unit out of the fenderwell. For installation, direct the shock absorber assembly towards the fenderwell where the upper mounting studs should be placed through the body holes; put the nuts, but do not tighten them completely. Pass the lower end of the absorber through the damper fork such that the aligning tab goes into the slot provided. Secure the damper fork to the lower control arm and the self-locking nut as well as the damper fork pinch bolt to a prescribed torque. Fits a brake hose to its holder and fasten it with a bolt and then replace the wheel and tighten its nuts, and thereafter lower the vehicle and insistently and tightly tighten the upper nuts.
