Car makers give every car 4 speaker connections before you buy. However, automakers typically only install two speakers during production. When you request the rear speaker set from the dealer, you need to get and install special mounting parts too. Regular speakers go within the lower part of each front window. You need to pull the car's negative power wire, loosen the screws holding the speaker grilles, carefully separate the grilles from the door panel, detach the speaker screws, guide the speaker forward, unplug it, and then remove it altogether. For correct installation: put the speaker into place, check that the electrical plug is tight, double-check that the grilles fit securely before screwing everything down. The Civic Hatchback and 1984-87 CRX allow users to detach their back speakers by unscrewing them directly from the rear hatch panels. In Civic Sedans, you can find the rear speakers on top of the trunk inside your car, held down by mounting screws you need to take out to reach them.
