Honda CRX Car Speakers

The Honda CRX cars can be improved dramatically in terms of audio quality if one changes them to replacement Car Speakers. These Car Speakers originate with better components as compared to factory options that are known to be made of inferior components that degenerate with time. Post-market Car Speakers have high-quality paper or polypropylene woofer cones, silk or silk/polymer composite tweeters, and butyl rubber surrounds for durability, thus a better sound clarity and bass response. The two major varieties of replacement Honda Car Speakers which are compatible with Honda CRX are: full range and component systems. Full range Car Speakers, in 2-way or 3-way, is readily installable in factory sites with simple upgrade. In turn, component systems contain individual parts which provide for the optimal positioning in the vehicle, thus, improving sound quality even more. They serve different needs whereby full range CRX Car Speakers are space efficient while component systems have a better way of sound customization.

Honda CRX Car Speakers Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove and install speakers on Honda CRX?
    A:
All vehicles come pre-wired from the factory for 4 speakers, but most models are standard with only 2 speakers installed. The rear set of speakers are dealer-installed and require additional mounting components. For front speaker removal and installation, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the screws retaining the speaker grille covers, gently pry the grille from the door panel, and take out the screws holding the speaker in place. Tilt the speaker forward, disconnect the plug, and remove it from the door. To install, position the speaker, ensure the plug is securely connected, and make sure the grilles click into position before tightening the screws. For rear speakers, the Civic Hatchback and 1984-87 CRX models have speakers mounted on separate panels in the rear hatch area, which can be removed by unscrewing the mounting screws. In Civic Sedans, the rear speakers are installed in the rear deck and can be accessed by opening the trunk and removing the screws. In the CRX, rear speakers are mounted behind panels in the corners of the area behind the seats, and if installing for the first time, special rear speaker mounting brackets from the Honda dealer are needed. Disconnect the negative battery cable, open the access panel to the rear storage area, and remove the top panel. Unscrew the speaker grille covers, gently pry the grilles away, and remove the speakers from their special mounting brackets. Install the speakers back into the brackets, ensure the grilles click into position, reassemble the storage compartment, and reconnect the negative battery cable.
