Honda 39120-T0A-A51 Speaker Assembly, Tweeter

You must have the radio's anti-theft code before you start this process. Unplug the cable from the battery's negative terminal and wait three minutes before working. Take off the center HVAC vents on CR-V models with audio display. Then take out the bolts holding the radio dashboard. Gently lift the front of the radio out of its spot to unplug all electric connections and take the unit free from the dash. Take off the hazard switch from the trim panel. Then unscrew the bolts holding the radio bracket and detach the radio from its place on the center panel. Similar to removal, start by recharging the battery negative cable. If you have premium sound or navigation, start by taking off the center HVAC vents. Then disconnect the assembly from the dashbolts that hold it to the supports. Take off the assembly until you can disconnect the power connections, then pull it the rest of the way out. Tear the FM distributor assembly off the bottom of the assembly, detach it, and slide the assembly off its two retaining brackets. Installation is the reverse of removal. With tweeters above the dashboard in 2011 models and before, you need to gently pull up the grille from the dashboard, avoiding contact to protect both the lining of the dash and the grille. Pull the grille up from the dashboard as far as it will go, keeping the wires attached, turn it around, and continue working. Check whether the tweeter wiring connecting to two pins is damaged, and replace the tweeter if you see any signs of problems when you remove its two-pin connector. When the tweeter electrical connector points toward you, put your ohmmeter across the right and left electrical connectors and read the resistance; it should be close to 4 ohms. Switch out the tweeter if it's different. Installation is the reverse of removal. To take door-mounted tweeters off, first pull the sail trim panel away from the top corner of the door. Then unplug the electrical connection to the tweeter, pry out the retaining clips, and pull out the speaker. Installation is the reverse of removal. To take front door speakers out, take off the door trim panel facing forward, push up the upper scallop head screw, then lift the speaker up while disconnecting the electric wires and pulling it out. Installation is the reverse of removal. To eject the back speakers in two-door cars, first take off the rear trunk lining, pry away electrical hookups from speakers there, undo mounting bolts, and slide speakers out to meet you. Installation is the reverse of removal. To take out and put in the sub-woofer, first remove the rear shelf trim panel, unscrew hold-downs that connect the subwoofer to the shelf, lift the speaker upward and disconnect its wires, and then take the speaker down. Installation is the reverse of removal.
