To replace the trunk lid latch, begin by opening the trunk and marking a line around the latch assembly for reference during installation. If the vehicle has a power latch, disconnect the electrical connector, then detach the two retaining bolts to remove the latch and take out the end of the latch release cable. For the trunk lock cylinder, open the trunk and look upward through the access hole behind the right taillight to remove the lock cylinder rod from its clip and the lock's mounting bolt. If applicable, disconnect the electrical connector from the lock, then twist the lock about 45 degrees to remove it. Installation for both components follows the reverse order of removal.
