To remove the components, unscrew the cable from the negative battery terminal, and half tighten the lug nuts at the right front wheel. Lift the front of the vehicle and place it on jackstands; then remove the right front wheel. Then remove the lower splash shields and the drivebelt and then loosen the drivebelt tensioner from the timing cover. Disconnect the water pump pulley and the
Crankshaft Pulley and then unbolt the alternator and the tensioner and its bracket. Exhaust the engine oil and then use a floor jack to provide support to the engine and it is good to use a wooden plank between the jack-pads and the oil pan. Take off the ground cable, right side
Engine Mount and bracket assembly, right valve cover and the mounting bolts for the timing cover. Take off the silicone gasket of the engine cover to block portion. For installation clean all the sealing surfaces of the timing cover and the block but be careful not to gouge the aluminum parts. If called for replace the crankshaft seal in the timing cover as well. This should be pointed at the mating surfaces of the cylinder block, at the timing cover and the upper surface contact areas as well as the oil pan mating surface, and also in a small quantity into the inner thread holes. Replace the timing chain with a new O-ring and fit the timing cover over it and the fasteners are to fit in their original place and be tightened manually until the timing cover touches the block. Tighten the bolts gradually to the required torque, and then fit the drivebelt tensioner, and similarly tighten the bolts. Replace the crankshaft pulley and the remaining parts in the reverse manner to the way of their removal. Adding the right recommended quantity of oil into the crankcase, reconnection of the battery and subsequently starting the engine for tests on leakage and over flowage.
