Honda Crosstour Air Filter Box

The Honda Crosstour Air Filter Box protects the engine by forcing incoming air through a specialized filter to ensure that clean oxygen only enters the combustion chambers. On every Honda manufactured, the Air Filter Box creates a sealed molded plastic chamber that prevents dust, sand, leaves, and microscopic grit carried by roughly 10,000 gallons of air for every single gallon of fuel burned from scouring the pistons and clogging the oil passages. Within the Crosstour engine bay, the Air Filter Box makes all the airflow go through the filter element before it continues to the intake manifold, a simple route that captures contaminants before they can destroy metal surfaces or overwork the oil system. Throughout the life of the Crosstour, the philosophy for the design of the Air Filter Box has been the same, relying on tight gaskets and internal baffles instead of moving parts, and hence differences between early and late Air Filter Boxes are confined to minor dimensional tweaks to fit engine bays while the function remains the same. Regular filter changes maintain the Air Filter Box at peak operating efficiency for preserving Honda power and fuel economy for every Crosstour mile, as well as long-term Honda reliability to loyal Crosstour drivers.
