How Do I Check the Key Interlock and Shift Lock Solenoids?

Vehicles with an automatic transaxle have an interlock system, including a shift lock system and a key interlock system, to prevent shifting on accident. To inspect the key interlock solenoid, remove the lower instrument panel, detach the connector, and look for continuity. To check the shift lock solenoid, remove the console, unplug the three-pin connector, and use jumper wires to touch a positive battery lead to the A terminal and a negative lead to the B terminal.
