How to remove and install the input and output shaft speed sensors in the Honda Ridgeline?

On newer Acura vehicles from 2003 and newer, and Honda vehicles made after 2006, you'll find the mainshaft speed sensor on the front of the transmission. Start by lifting your vehicle, then put it on stable jackstands before working. Unscrew the engine shield, then loosen the connecting wire on the sensor for the input shaft speed. Unbolt and pull off the speed sensor. Throw away its O-ring. You put the sensor back into place by adding a fresh O-ring first, then carefully tightening the bolt that holds it in place. You'll find the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor sitting at the top of the transaxle. Unplug the intake tube, and disconnect the electrical cable linked to the speed sensor at the engine. Safely remove the output shaft sensor fixings and pull the sensor directly up, throwing away the sensor's rubber ring. During installation, you start with a fresh O-ring and make sure to tighten the sensor holding bolt straight when putting things back together.
