    The 1.8L engines of Civic have the PCV valve on the right side of the engine, at the firewall's end above it. In the CR-V and Civic 2.4L engines, the PCV valve is placed near the alternator on top of the engine block. You should detach crankcase ventilation pipe from PCV valve and unscrew it as well as remove it. As for installation steps, they are completely opposite to removal steps. Consequently, users have to tighten the PCV valve accordingly.

    Loosen the hose clamps at both ends of the fresh air inlet hose and the crankcase ventilation hose, disconnect them from the air intake duct and the intake manifold, unscrew the PCV valve, remove and discard the PCV valve washer, and install the new components. On V6 models, remove the PCV valve retaining bolt and remove the PCV valve, and remove and discard the old PCV valve O-rings. Be sure to use new O-rings and tighten the PCV valve securely.

    Start the engine and allow it to warm up. With the engine idling, pinch off the crankcase ventilation hose and verify that the PCV valve makes a clicking sound. If there is no clicking sound, the crankcase ventilation hose might be clogged or punctured.
