Before handling the car radio's controls, find and keep the security code nearby. Turn off the car's battery power (at the negative cable) and let it sit for three minutes before starting the process. If your car has an audio display system, take out the dash center pocket. Next, free the radio from the dash by removing the bottom holding bolts. Unplug the heritage unit and pull it out until you can disconnect the linkages, then take the assembly away. To access and take out the radio, simply pull its brackets on both sides while unscrewing it from the panel. Putting it back together is just the opposite. For cars with fancy sound systems or navigation, take out the trim panels around the driver seat and behind the instrument panel. Free the bottom bolts holding the radio to the dashboard, gently pull the assembly from its place, disconnect the connectors, and take out the assembly. Lift the brackets on the radio's side and disconnect it from the trim panel. Reinstall is the opposite of removing. Safely plug the cable back into the inside of the battery. To fix dashboard tweeters on early 2011 models, first gently pry off the grille, lift the assembly from the dashboard, disconnect the wires, check the capacitor for problems, and measure resistance using an ohmmeter to see if you need to replace the tweeter. Undo the electrical connection, pry the door trim free from the top corner, disconnect the clips holding the speaker in place, take it out, then put everything back the other way around during installation. To remove and reinstall front door speakers, raise the panel, unscrew a bolt on top, lift the speaker to pop out its bottom clip, disconnect the power cable, and pull out the speaker in the same order. To get 2-door rear speakers out, first remove the rear shelf trim, open the trunk, disconnect the speaker's electrical wires, unscrew its mounting screw, and pull it from its slot - both steps are the opposite of putting the speaker back in. To take out and put in a subwoofer, pull off the rear shelf trim, undo the fasteners that hold it to the shelf, lift up the speaker, detach the power wires, and take away the speaker. To install the speaker, just undo everything in the reverse order.
