- Q: How do you safely remove and install the stereo and speakers on Honda Del Sol?A:The stereo in your vehicle may be equipped with an anti-theft system; ensure to check the relevant information before detaching the battery cables. To remove the stereo, first detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, followed by the positive cable. Next, remove the center console, then reach under the radio to remove the two retaining screws. Pull out the stereo, unplug the electrical connector and antenna lead, and then remove the unit. Installation is the reverse of removal. For front speakers, start by removing the door trim panel, then take out the speaker mounting screws, pull out the speaker, and unplug the electrical connector. Installation is again the reverse of removal. For rear speakers in a coupe, open the trunk, remove the nuts and clips, and detach the trim panel between the seat back and the rear window. Inside the vehicle, remove the screws and lift the speaker and adapter out as an assembly. In a sedan, work in the trunk to remove the speaker grill nuts and unplug the wires from the speaker, then inside the vehicle, remove the screws, detach the speaker, and lift it out.
