The main objective of these Car Speakers is to distribute balanced audio throughout the cabin so bass, mids, and highs are sharp at any level of volume. Early factory systems in the Prelude had been based on low-grade paper cones, foam surrounds, and small magnets, which often distorted and deteriorated in normal Honda road use. Upgraded Car Speakers in the later models change to polypropylene or coated paper woofers, silk blend tweeters, and durable butyl rubber surrounds that enhance the bass punch and keep the treble smooth. Two main styles, full range and component, let Honda owners upgrade easily. Full range Car Speakers come in woofer and tweeter form, or with a mid driver to the 3-way variety, so they slip into original door spots with little wiring to do. Component Car Speakers have higher tweeters than woofers due to a crossover, which provides cleaner staging in the Prelude, provided there is a balance between power and sensitivity. - Q: How to remove and install a Radio Receiver, Amplifier, Tape Player, and CD Player and Speakers on Honda Prelude?A:Note the radio security code, then disconnect the negative battery cable.Remove the center console.Detach the cup holder (if applicable).Remove the mounting bolts/screws from the console.Remove the mounting screws from the radio and then pull the unit out slightly for access to the connectors on the rear of the radio.Detach the connectors and antenna lead, then remove the radio from the vehicle.Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
