Lose front wheel or wheel bearing, all wheel and four wheel drive vehicles must torque the lug nuts and axle nut to specification, and then check for looseness, if the wheel bearing is worn or damaged, it must be replaced. Where on front-wheel drive cars, after torquing and re-checking, if the wheel bearing is out of adjustment it has to be adjusted to the specified tolerance and if it remains loose it has to be replaced. For rear wheel drive vehicles, if the wheel bearing is out of adjustment, it should be adjusted to specification, and if still loose, replace it; lug nuts should also be tightened to the required torque and checked again, also in this category, we find worn or damaged wheel bearings. On all automobiles, the process of diagnosing, as well as the frequency of adjustments or replacement, is the same for loose rear wheels or wheel bearings, with emphasis on the state of the wheel bearings and the desired specifications of the lug nut.
