- Q: How to disconnect and install a Clutch Master Cylinder?A: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the cotter pin from the master cylinder pushrod clevis and pull out the clevis pin. Detach the clutch master cylinder reservoir and clamp a pair of locking pliers onto the clutch fluid feed hose. Disconnect the hydraulic lines and loosen the fluid feed hose clamp. Under the dash, unscrew the two clutch master cylinder retaining nuts and remove the cylinder. Place the master cylinder in position and install the mounting bolts. Connect the hydraulic lines and attach the fluid feed hose. Tighten the mounting bolts and hydraulic line fitting. Connect the pushrod to the clutch pedal and fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir. Bleed the clutch system.
