How to detach and install the starter motor from the transaxle on Honda Del Sol?

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then clearly label and disconnect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor solenoid, removing any clips that secure the wiring to the starter and the bracket assembly that retains the harness wiring loom to the transaxle. Next, remove the mounting bolts, noting that it is easier to disconnect the electrical connector from the starter with the unit already removed from the transaxle, and then detach the starter. Installation is the reverse of removal.

How to check Starter Motor for the Honda Pilot?

Avoid blaming the starter right away when you face a starting circuit problem. Diagnose battery cable clamps, cables, and condition of the battery. You should inspect the starter solenoid, starter mounting bolts, fuse box, ignition switch circuit, gear position switch or clutch start circuit, and starter cut relay. If the starter doesn't activate, you should test the fusing of the starting system and battery voltage at solenoid. In case of slow turnover by the crankshaft by the starter, you may want to test its turning voltage and current draw.
